L-G sanctions Rs. 200 crore to DMRC

Lieutenant-Governor Najeeb Jung on Friday sanctioned the release of Rs. 200 crore to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) as the Delhi Government’s equity contribution to phase-III of the Mass Rapid Transit System project.

According to the terms and conditions, the DMRC is expected to ensure time-bound progress of the project, while the Transport Department will carry out periodical appraisal of the performance of the DMRC for ascertaining whether the targets are being achieved.

The Metro body will submit monthly progress reports.
