Announcing establishment of children’s wing in the party, Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan Saturday said that Parliamentarians are feared by their Dharna dubbing the coming days as more crucial and decisive.
He was addressing from his container at D-Chowk for the 45th consecutive day.
Making it loud and clear not to leave the place without taking the resignation of Nawaz Sharif, Imran said that the people’s gathering at his Sunday’s Dharna at Lahore will break all the records.
He felicitated his supporters for having remained steadfast, despite all odds, during the last 45 days and said, “the sit-in would not end till resignation of the PM.”
Talking about the torture on PTI workers, he said, “I would never forget the night of August 30 when the government had resorted to use of force against the peaceful protesters.”
He said that as many as 500 people had got injured on that night and seven had lost their lives due to heavy shelling of the tear gas and firing by the police. “I congratulate you that courts have ordered registration of cases against PM Nawaz Sharif, Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan and IG Police Islamabad,” he added.
Khan said that PTI workers had set a new record of longest sit-in, which had shaken the power corridors and would end rule and politics of dynasties in the country. “Sharif family had been in power for several decades but we would not let them continue their rule,” he added.
Addressing the PM, Imran said, “I would ask Nawaz Sharif not to resign for some more time so that I could charge the entire nation.”
He also censured the government for blaming PTI sit-in for increase in the cost of Islamabad-Rawalpindi metro bus project. The cost of the project has been increased by Rs 6 billion, he said while adding “it is another lie by the Sharif government.”
Talking about the allegations of rigging in general elections, he said that the government had sacked former Chairman NADRA Tariq Malik so that he could not verify votes.
Khan said that Malik had revealed that the NADRA was capable of verifying as much as 100000 votes in one day. “What is the reason they [rulers] did not verify votes in four constituencies which we had demanded earlier,” he added.
The PTI Chairman said that Tariq Malik’s family was subjected to threats due to which he had to leave the country. In addition, Islamabad High Court [IHC] had declared his sacking as illegal, he added.
While criticising Nawaz trip to United Nations, Khan asked what was the outcome of this tour where the government has spent Rs 80 million. Why they spent a lot of money when 30 million children are not going to school in Pakistan.
Talking about his next line of action, Khan said, “I would continue to hold rallies in major cities but the sit-in in Islamabad will not end.”
