FALMOUTH JAZZ STROLL

Get your groove on at Falmouth Village’s Jazz Stroll (Oct. 3, 6-11 p.m., free). Tap your feet to music ranging from classic swing to avant-garde jazz at 15 venues along Queen’s Byway and Main Street, including sets by award-winning ensembles and local favorites such as the Kevin Scollins Trio, The Russ Wilcox Group, and the Stage Door Canteen Big Band. Performance times are staggered allowing music lovers to stroll the village sampling a variety of jazz styles at stores, inns, and pubs throughout the night. Along with the free entertainment, many businesses will celebrate with parties. The Jazz Stroll is one part of a larger two-week Falmouth Jazzfest (through Oct. 8) that includes ticketed jazz concerts and brunches. Not to be missed is headliner and Grammy award-winner Catherine Russell, acclaimed jazz and blues singer, who will perform at the Highfield Theatre (Oct. 4, 7:30 p.m.). $30 in advance, $35 at door.www.jazzfestfalmouth.org

ART AND ANTIQUES EXTRAVAGANZA

On Columbus Day Weekend, the Antiques Dealers’ Association of America, in conjunction with Historic Deerfield, will host its annual art and antiques show featuring 18th- and 19th-century American art, antiques, and design. (Oct. 11-12, Sat 11 a.m.-6 p.m., Sun till 5.) Located in the quintessential New England village of Historic Deerfield, the show is a fun and informative way to experience antiquing and early design. Applauded by serious and casual collectors, visitors can browse through thousands of rare objects from furnishings to carpets to quilts. Admission includes access to a new exhibition in the Flynt Center, “Deerfield: A Community of Craftwork in the Early 20th Century,” featuring more than 25 objects made by Deerfield artisans during the Arts & Crafts movement. The Smithsonian Chowder House will serve food, tea, coffee and treats during the show; dining is also available at Champney’s Restaurant & Tavern at the Deerfield Inn. TORONTO ISLAMIC ARTS MUSEUM DEBUTS

Explore the arts and cultures of Islamic civilizations at the newly opened Aga Khan Museum.
