Navratri is the time when people choose to go traditional not only with their attire but with their appetite too. And with quite a spread of gastronomical delights to choose from, city based eateries have put up their best selection of dishes to gorge on. We bring you a few lip smacking ones.

Go Green Khandani Rajdhani at Viman Nagar, Shivaji Nagar and Hadapsar are treating the patrons with a wide array of Gujarati food items under the theme ‘Green Gujarat’.
In the special menu available from October 1, methi dudhi muthiya and green peas ghugra will give you a culinary tour of Gujarat, this Navratri.
Upesh Marlecha, owner of Sukanta restaurant, said, “For the Gujarati people who have shifted to Pune, Navratri is the time when they like to grab some authentic food to make themselves feel at home. Understanding their requirement, we are offering typical Gujarati dishes like mutter methia, ram khichdi, turiya patra, khandwi in our thali.”
Vandana, a specialty restaurant for Gujarati food, is serving Gujarati dal, black chana dal and undhiyu for this season. Owner Ankit Ramane informed, “Dishes like aloo tamatar, phool gobhi and bhindi fry prepared in a Gujarati way are loved by the patrons.”
For the sweet tooth A meal can never be complete without sweets. N K Gupta, owner of Bhoj Restaurant, said, “We have noticed that local people prefer something other than gulab jamun and ice-cream in the festive season. Hence we are offering angoori rabid, moong dal halwa and malpua to pamper the taste buds of the Puneites.”
Saket Khanna, of an in-home dining website, informed, “Gujarati sweets are very much in demand. We get inquiries for a variety of desserts and there’s are variety of options available. Besan laddoo, rabdi (in several flavors), gajjaks, chikkis (with flavors like kaju, badam and peanuts), fafda, blueberry and pineapple jalebi and ras malai are just a few of the sweets that you can choose from.”
