Filmmakers should concentrate on art films: Siddaramaiah
Chief Minister Siddaramaiah wants Sandalwood film makers to do art films which can create a positive impact on society. “Art films are slowly disappearing because nowadays many directors and actors prefer doing commercial projects and some titles of commercial films are such that no one remembers. I urge filmmakes to concentrate on art films, which delivers messages to people,” said Siddaramiah, after participating in the Dasara Film Festival inauguration at Kalmandira in Mysore.
“In my younger days, I have enjoyed watching films of Dr Rajkumar and Kalpana,” said the CM. Actors-turned-politicians Ambareesh, Tara and Umashree graced the occasion. And actors Srimurali, Sharan, Roopika, Megahana Raj, Pooja Gandhi and Srinath also attended the event.
On the occasion, Bharathi Vishunvardhan was felicitated for completing 50 years in Sandalwood industry.
