Elderly man held for minor's rape in Betul

BHOPAL: A 69-year old man was arrested for raping a 13-year old girl in Betul district. The accused was sent to jail on Friday. Incident took place at Shahpura village on September 20. However, the survivor reported the matter to cops on Thursday as she was threatened by the accused.
Silas Singh, 69, was former warden of the hostel where the survivor lives. On September 20, he asked one of the girls at the hostel to call the survivor.When she reached his house, he forcefully took her to the guest room and raped her, police said citing her complaint. He also threatened her that he will kill her if she said anything about the incident to anyone.
It was only on Thursday that the girl could muster courage to tell her hostel representatives about the incident, who then brought her to the police station for making the complaint.
