SJVN pays dividend of Rs 261 crore

The Himachal-based public sector hydro-power major, Sutlej Jal Vidyut Nigam limited, has paid a dividend of Rs 261.48 crore to the Government of India on account of its annual financial performance for the year 2013-14. SJVN had declared a total dividend of Rs 405.39 crore for the financial year 2013-14 against the last year's dividend of Rs 397.12 crore, said a company spokesman here on Friday.

The dividend cheque was handed over to Union Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal by R.P. Singh, Chairman of the SJVN, in New Delhi. Mr. Singh said that the Nathpa Jhakri Hydro Power Station of SJVN had completed 10 years of electricity generation this year, while two other projects, 412 MW Rampur Hydro Electric Project in Himachal Pradesh and 47.6 MW Khirwire Wind Power Project in Maharashtra, had also commenced generating electricity. .
