‘We exposed NCP, no post-poll deal’

The credence to BJP-NCP alliance gained grounds as a section within the party sharing cordial relations with the Pawars often hinted how the Ministry of Defence was still not allocated to anybody at the Centre.

Fadnavis, however, asserted that the BJP cannot lower its guard in the anti-corruption campaign while taking on NCP ministers and leaders. Even during the Lok Sabha polls, Fadnavis had asserted his view before the central leadership, and not surprisingly, Prime Minister Narendra Modi during public rallies in Maharashtra spoke against NCP and Sharad Pawar on agriculture failure and plight of farmers in state.

In a veiled attack on its former ally Shiv Sena, he said, “Whether it was investigation into multi-crore irrigation scam or coal scam in power sector held by Ajit Pawar, we diligently pursued the issue in the Assembly.” He implied that Sena always remained on backfoot when it came to exposing corruption in the state government.

The Maharashtra unit chief pointed out that BJP president Amit Shah had also trained his guns at NCP president Sharad Pawar on the issue of farmer suicides and agrarian crisis in Maharashtra.
