Cheteshwar Pujara ended his short English stint with Derbyshire on a strong note, finishing with an even unbeaten hundred in the last innings of the season against Leicestershire. Having being dismissed in an rather unfortunate manner in the first innings (handled the ball), Pujara more than made up for the gaffe with a stellar knock, which included 15 fours and one six and came from just 115 balls.

In all, Pujara played three first class matches for Derbyshire and ended up with a pretty modest tally of 219 runs at an average of 54.80. More than the runs though, the experience of playing in English conditions must help Pujara, who is going through a slump in form at the moment.

Having endured a miserable time during the 5-match Test series against England, Pujara, on the advice of Rahul Dravid, had opted to spend some valuable time in the county circuit.
