Jammu, Sept 25: On the 98th birth anniversary of Bharatiya Jana Sangh ideologue Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayaya, BJP organized a number of programmes and functions in different parts of the State today to recall and recapitulate his rich legacy and ideology.
At Party Headquarters here BJP State President & MP Jugal Kishore Sharma, State general secretary (Org.) Ashok Kaul and other leaders recalled his dedication and struggle for the upliftment of the people of the country and threw light on his life.
Jugal Kishore Sharma said that Pt. Deendayal Upadhayaya was an ardent nationalist philosopher, economist, sociologist, historian, journalist, and political activist. He was an iconic leader of the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. A revered icon of Integral Humanism, he was an ideologue and a guiding force for an alternative model of governance and politics. He conceived the political philosophy Integral Humanism –the guiding philosophy of the BJP. The philosophy of Integral Humanism advocates the simultaneous and integrated program of the body, mind, intellect and soul of each human being.
Ashok Kaul said that Deendayal believed in a constructive approach. He exhorted his followers to co-operate with the government when it was right and fearlessly oppose when it erred. He believed in Swaraj (self governance) which was campaigned by BJP till end of last century. He placed nation’s interest above everything else. He died in mysterious circumstances on February 11, 1968 at Mughal Sarai Railway yard.
Similar programme was organized by Talab Tillo Mandal under Mandal President Ayodhya Gupta.
Chander Mohan Gupta, Balbir Ram Rattan, Yudhvir Sethi, Subash Jandial, Er. Ashwani Khosla, Dr. Naseem Choudhary Ajay Pargal, Bhanu Jasrotia, Ashish Sareen, Kulbir Charak, Ajay Vaid, Keshav Chopra, Rahul Sharma, Rakesh Dubey, Ashish Gupta and others also paid their tributes.
Following the philosophy and ideology of Pt. Deendayal Upadhayaya that helping hand should be extended to the last person in the queue, BJP State general secretaries Ashok Kaul and kavinder Gupta, along with other senior leaders, distributed different items among the poor people living in Valmiki Basti in Bakshi Nagar area of Jammu west district.
Jammu West District President Subash Jandial had organized a programme to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhayaya, wherein some items of day to day use were distributed.
Sat Sharma (C.A), Chander Mohan Gupta, Subash Jandial, Arvind Gupta, Surinder Choudhary, Er. Ashwani Khosla, Dinesh Gupta, Balwan Singh, Ayodhya Gupta, Praduman Singh, Tripta Jamwal and others were present on the occasion.
Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) Talab Tillo Mandal today recalled Indian philosopher Pandit Deendayal Upadhyaya’s Mantra of Integral Humanism and contribution towards serving society on his 99th birth anniversary. The function was organized by Ayodhya Gupta,Talab Tillo Mandal president at Vikas Lane Talab Tillo Jammu. Gupta said he was a guiding force for the present BJP in its erstwhile avatar, the Bharatiya Jana Sangh. Prominent present were Sanjay Baru, Radhey Sharma, Ajeet Angral, Jatin Sethi, Sumit Reshi, Arjun Grover, Rohan Mahajan, Lovkesh Gondi, Manohar Gupta, Tony Sharma, Varun Anand.
Yudhvir Sethi Jammu Poonch Parliamentary Constituency In charge and State Incharge BJYM and Priya Sethi State president Mahila Morcha organised the function in Rajput ( Boria ) Basti Shalamar in Old City  to celebrate the birthday of the late Bharatiya Jana Sangh leader Pandit Deendayal Upadhyay on September 25 as ‘Antyoday Diwas’, aiming to reach out to the marginalised sections of society. In which Jugal Kishore Sharma Party president and member of Parliament along with Ashok Khajuria MLA were also present in the occasion and distributed eatable items, blankets, utensils and bakery products to the people of the particular basti.
A programmed was organized at Bharatiya Janata Party office at R.S Pura in which rich floral tributes to Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay, the first general secretary of Jana Sangh and the man who gave the philosophy of Antodaya.
Remembering Pt. Deen Dayal Upadhyay on the occasion Senior BJP leader Dr. Gagan Bhagat paid tributes to him in a unique way by opening accounts of more than 100 persons at various banks situated at R.S Pura to popularize Pradhan Mantri Jan Dhan Yojna.
