The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) and Delhi Transport Corporation (DTC) have told the Delhi High Court that the row over allotment of land for shifting the 50-acre Millennium bus depot will be resolved soon.
“A meeting will be held on Thursday by the Delhi chief secretary on this issue and will be attended by DDA officials. The issue of allotment of land at Karkari More will be resolved,” the counsel for DTC told the court of Justice VK Shali on Wednesday.
DTC, which is facing contempt proceedings, has to vacate the bus depot by October 31. ASG Sanjay Jain, appearing for DTC, and DDA’s counsel Rajiv Bansal sought time for settling the issue on the ground that a high-level meeting was scheduled
for Thursday.
DDA, in a recent status report, had said the plan to hand over 14 acres of land out of total 42 acres at Karkari More in East Delhi has “already been approved by the DDA vice chairman on September 19 and that this plan will be ratified in the next technical committee meeting.”
