After a roller-coaster ride of three months, Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa has finally come to a close with Ashish Sharma being declared as the winner. The final round was quite interesting as both Ashish and runner-up Karan Tacker gave tough competition to each other, and a tie-breaker was needed for the final result. Although the trophy means a lot to Ashish, it’s the freedom, that he is enjoying and savouring at the moment. “I feel relieved,” he says as he adds that the entire experience was quite grueling and exhausting. “But I shouldn’t be complaining, as I learnt a lot in the past few months. Juggling Rangrasiya, and Jhalak... at the same time was a big thing. It has made me headstrong,” he remarks.
The actor had built a good rapport with the judges, especially Karan Johar. In fact, when Ashish fell ill, Johar shared his doctor’s number and was quite concerned about his health. “He kept telling me not to give up and fight.”
Tell him that the other contestants from the past have got some plum projects in movies and if he is anticipating an offer from any of the two film-maker judges on the show, he is quick to respond, “I never connected with them on that level. If my work is liked, not just Karan Johar or Remo D Souza, anyone would give me roles,” says the winner, who is now flying off to Europe for a vacation.
