ICFAI Business School (IBS), Hyderabad's faculty member G.V. Muralidhara has won the ‘Best Case Award’ in The Case Centre's ‘Entrepreneurship’ category for the case study 'Building A Business From Nature: Kari W Block’s Entrepreneurial Journey'.

The case chronicles the entrepreneurial journey of Kari W Block, the founder & CEO of Earth-Kind Inc., an USA based company that provided a non-messy, environmentally-friendly solution to the rodent menace.

"My journey has been full of challenges but very exciting. I believe that if the eco-system provides the right kind of support, many more women will take to entrepreneurship and become successful leaders and examples for others," said Block, the protagonist in the case, according to a press statement. "I am glad that my collaboration with IBS Hyderabad has helped me in making a contribution to the academic community through this case."

While there are case studies available on many topics, cases with female protagonists are few and far between. IBS has earlier developed cases on women leaders like Indra Nooyi (PepsiCo), Carly Fiorina (formerly with HP), Meg Whitman (formerly with eBay and now with HP), Andrea Jung (formerly with Avon), Ursula Burns (Xerox Corp.), and several women entrepreneurs including Kiran Mazumdar–Shaw (Biocon), Shahnaz Hussain (Shahnaz Herbals Inc), Ping Fu (founder of Geomagic), and Kalpana Saroj (Kamani Tubes).

The business school has a dedicated Case Research Center with a repository of 5,500 case studies in management. The center has won several international recognitions in the past for its cases.
