The Exynos version of the Note Edge with stellar performance according to latest benchmarks
When Samsung unveiled the Galaxy Note Edge -- a special edition of the Note with a screen that slopes towards the right side of the device -- we were pretty impressed. Sure, the novel concept remains untested with the market, but it's definitely cool enough to get the approval of a bunch of geeks. Where the Note Edge disappointed, however, was its performance, especially compared with the Note 4 -- both of which we benchmarked on the show floor at IFA 2014.

According to our results then, the Snapdragon 805 versions of the Note 4 and the Note Edge weren't at all comparable when it came to synthetic tests -- the Edge remained in the dust, with scores comparable with the now aging Note 3 and its Snapdragon 800 chip. As it turns out, however, at least according to an AnTuTu run courtesy of Korean blog MutantCell, the Exynos 5433-powered version won't have such a problem, and will perform as well as the SD805-based Note 4. In case you're wondering, the Exynos 5433 is the latest flagship chip from Samsung, and makes use of eight cores arranged in an ARM big.LITTLE configuration (so two clusters of four cores), along with a powerful Mali-T760 GPU.

Before we go, let us make it clear that the Note Edge we tested at IFA 2014 was likely a pre-production unit running on test software (a theory further corroborated by the fact that the device still hasn't hit the market). In other words, there's a very good chance that the Snapdragon 805-equipped version will also not disappoint after Samsung has done some fine-tuning.
