Paver Smith rebrands as Influential ; New name for PR firm after founders leave [Liverpool Echo (England)]

(Liverpool Echo (England) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) ONE OF the North West's best-known public relations and marketing firms, Paver Smith, has rebranded with a new name - Influential. The change became a necessity after the departures of Dougal Paver and Rachel Smith, two of the three co-founders after whom the business was named. However, the Liverpool city centre-based agency, which also has offices in Manchester and London, insists the rebranding is necessary to reflect the wider range of services it now offers. Mr Paver and Ms Smith started the business in 2006 along with another local businessman, Martyn Best. The pair departed in November last year to take up senior roles with engineering firm, Curtins. In its earlier years, Paver Smith enjoyed significant growth but it 2011 it collapsed into administration with debts of Pounds 1.3m.

The firm's management immediately bought the assets, goodwill and intellectual property of the business and restarted under the same name as a limited liability partnership. Since then it is has grown steadily again and its clients include Morgan Sindall, Quilter Cheviot, Redx Pharma, the Downing and Langtree property groups, Viva Brazil, Grant Thornton, Liverpool One and National Lottery operator, Camelot. Managing director, Sara Wilde-McKeown, said: "We work with influential brands and wanted a name that reflects our affinity with our customers' values and aspirations. Influential acknowledges what we are here to achieve for clients. We have built a national reputation for being a highly effective PR operator since R operator since the agency was founded in 2006. "It's important now that our brand mirrors not just how the agency has evolved, but also how the market in which we operate has changed." The board also comprises marketing expert Karen Swan, who joined in May, former journalists Jon Brown and Chris Hulme, and chairman David Heal, who founded and developed Harrison Cowley into the UK's largest independent PR agency. Influential has recently won the brief to deliver a marketing strategy for Marketing Liverpool and the ECHO Arena and BT Convention Centre around its Ambassadors programme.
