The district police on Tuesday arrested four armed persons, who are said to be associates of “Pambu” Nagaraj, one of the victims of triple murder reported at Jaihindpuram on Friday.

The police identified the persons arrested at Tirunagar as R. Ilavarasan, M. Prabhu, M. Marudhupandi and K. Pandivel.

A police statement said that the accused were in possession of a sword and a long knife.

The Tirunagar police secured them when they went on the lookout for a gang that had robbed a person at knifepoint.

The accused are claimed to have confessed during interrogation that they were conspiring to take revenge on their rivals for the triple murder.

They were booked for attempt to murder and under the Arms Act.
