‘More evidence against man detained for murder of girlfriend’

Anu Sharma, who worked as a hairdresser in the film industry, was found dead in her Madh Island flat.

A day after a small time model was detained in connection with the murder of his live-in girlfriend, the Malwani police have been unable to get strong circumstantial evidence against him.

However, police officers said that several facts that have come to light during investigations all point towards him as the suspect. Anu Sharma, who worked as a hairdresser in the film industry, was found strangled to death in her Madh Island flat on Monday evening, and her boyfriend, Manjit Keshav, was subsequently detained by the police.

The police suspect that Anu had found out about his marriage and was about to expose his two timing ways, because of which Keshav killed her.
Anu’s body was found by her neighbour Sunita Prajapat, the police said.

However, when Keshav  reached the house after getting the news, he visited a doctor nearby and asked for a death certificate. The doctor, however, told him that a police complaint was necessary, after which Keshav left without informing the police, said officers. “We will record the doctor’s statement. Both their phones were switched off on the night of the murder,” said Lohkare.
