Many mega projects are in the pipeline raising the people’s expectations on the future potential of Nellore district in terms of real estate sector and also industrial development. Already, the presence of industrial hubs, special economic zones and Krishnapatnam Port had resulted in a spurt in the prices of lands.

In recent days, the government gave indications on the development of Dugarajapatnam Port in Vakadu area which has many advantages and huge potential as a future deep-water port. Local leaders cutting across political lines and also former MP Chinta Mohan have made a strong plea for the construction of this port to explore full potential of the district. The talk of developing a port at Ramayapatnam in neighbouring Prakasam district had also raised the curiosity of the people here. If it is to take shape, the nearby Kavali town in Nellore district will get a fillip both in terms of job creation and industrial development.

Former MLA and member of AP Capital Committee Beeda Mastan Rao has welcomed the demand for developing Ramayapatnam Port considering its spin-off benefits to Kavali area. The people’s representatives are of the opinion that mega projects will not only give a new dimension to realty sector but also help in meeting the rising aspirations of the job-seeking youth in the respective areas.
