The much-delayed Son-Et-Lumiere, the sound and light show designed to portray the rise and fall of Tipu Sultan, the Tiger of Mysore, is expected to start from September 30 at Srirangapatna in the backdrop of the Tipu fort.

The project was planned to be launched about six years ago, but was plagued by various issues. The Department of Tourism and Karnataka State Tourism Development Corporation have allocated around Rs. 3.24 crore for the project, N. Mohan, Engineer (Technical) of Innovative Lighting Systems Corp, told The Hindu in Srirangapatna on Wednesday. The agency has already installed around 160 halogen lumens lights and it would install other equipment soon.

Film director T.S. Nagabharana is the creative director of the Son-Et-Lumiere.
