Houston and Denver have been picked as test markets for the mini Frappuccino, a smaller version of the popular Starbucks beverage.
At 10 ounces, the mini is two ounces smaller than the conventional tall Frappuccino, and costs 20 to 30 cents less, depending on the flavor.
"Our customers are looking for choices, and we're excited to test a new size offering for them," Seattle-based Starbucks spokeswomen Maggie Jantzen said.

The mini Frappuccino is available in select Houston and Denver stores, she said.
The mini Frappuccino, which went on sale earlier this month, was previously test-marketed in San Diego this summer, Jantzen said.
The Starbucks Frappuccino is a blend of coffee, milk and ice and comes in a variety of flavors, including caramel, pumpkin spice, mocha and vanilla bean.
A vanilla bean flavored mini has 170 calories, compared to the tall-size vanilla bean, which has 280 calories.
A Frappuccino also comes in 16-ounce and 24-ounce sizes.

Jantzen said the company doesn't have sales figures available for the Frappuccino. USA Today reported that the beverage generates about $2 billion in annual sales for the company and is among its most profitable products.
The most expensive Frappuccino is either the pumpkin spice or salted caramel mocha flavored venti at $5.25.
The mini costs between $2.75 and $3.95, depending on the flavor.
The venti java chip Frappuccino has the most calories at 580.
