Interiors

Enter the vehicle and you will be greeted by a new black-beige theme. The new Mahindra Xylo has been layered with fresh upholstery. Some of the loaded equipment includes a Bluetooth-enabled double-DIN audio system with voice commands, a new instrument cluster and steering-mounted audio and cruise controls. It also comes with comfort features such as a flexible 60:40 third row and electric wing mirrors, in addition to safety features which include front dual airbags, Antilock Braking System (ABS) with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) and reverse park assist.

Engines and transmission

Under its hood, it comes with two diesel options- the2.5-litre CRDe engine (93.7bhp of power) either in BSIII or BSIV standard and the 2.2-litre mHAWK (118bhp of power) as per BSIV, same as that of the Scorpio. The BSIII engine is being sold in Tier III cities or rural areas only .

Both engines are mated to the 5MT320 five-speed manual gearbox which will be seen on the new Scorpio as well. Mahindra claims that the suspension has also been reworked to offer a more comfortable ride, greater stability and reduce bodyroll.
It can be said that the refreshed Mahindra Xylo will be a fresh attempt for the company to compete against segment leaders Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova.
