Jipmer designated as Regional Resource Centre

Jipmer has been designated as a Regional Resource Centre (RRC) for 160 Medical Colleges of South India, spread over Tamil Nadu, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Kerala and Puducherry under the National Knowledge Network (NKN) & National Medical College Network (NMCN) of Telemedicine.

The notification in this regard has been issued by the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.

Jipmer has been using NKN connectivity to telecast free of charge teaching sessions, workshops and continuing medical education programmes to medical colleges in South India as well as the AIMS Jodhpur, AIMS in Raipur and the Dr. RML Hospital in Delhi.

Online access

The sessions are available for viewing by students on their desktops or laptops, smartphones or tablets by accessing a web link provided by Jipmer. A telephone number is also available for students to ask questions or clarify doubts.
