Third eye: Gadkari serves poha to bill

    Synopsis

From Nitin Gadkari to Ajit Singh, here is a look at how our politicians fared last week.

Last week, Union minister Nitin Gadkari held a meeting with Bill Gates and Melinda Gates at his residence over breakfast. And turns out Gadkari kept up to his Nagpur name. A fly on the wall tells us that the minister served Mrs and Mr Gates channa poha and makka vada which the billionaire couple relished. Gadkari also gifted Bill a briefcase made out of bamboo and Melinda a sericulture saree.
    Kejriwal in New Avatar

He has started holding weekly meetings every Monday in which everyone officer bearers has to report their activities. The ill-prepared, we are told, are often given a good dressing down.

You may think the BJP-Sena and Congress-NCP wrangling over seats wasted valuable time. But experienced politicians – and seasoned cynics – point upwards, to the sky. The inauspicious pitru paksha period is ending only by Wednesday, and the leaders and parties are expected to mark 'any beginning' only from Wednesday. So, was the tussle-period tailormade to cover the pitru paksha?

    Some Publicity for Ajit Singh

Lutyen's Delhi can brace up for a repeat of the days when farmers used to troop in from Western UP, holding the capital to ransom. The Bhartiya Kisan Union says it's mulling between "shantipriya" and "krantikari" methods to wrest the bungalow at 12, Tuglaq Road, and make it a memorial for Charan Singh. Ajit Singh may or may not get the bungalow, but the agitation is getting him some publicity.
