Rio de Janeiro will reportedly be home to only six of the 56 Olympic football matches at the 2016 Games.
According to a report published by the Folha de S.Paulo newspaper, Sao Paulo, Belo Horizonte and Brasilia will each host 14 men's and women's matches. Salvador will stage eight fixtures.
Rio will host the four semifinals in both competitions and the respective finals, the newspaper said.
Stadiums already confirmed for the Games are the Fonte Nova (Salvador), Mineirao (Belo Horizonte), Mane Garrincha (Brasilia) and Maracana (Rio). Each venue was used during this year's FIFA World Cup.
Three stadiums - Itaquerao, Morumbi and Estadio do Palmeiras - are vying to be among the two Olympic venues earmarked for Sao Paulo.
Organizers are expected to announce the 2016 Games football schedule in November. Endi
