Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and sought a special rehabilitation package for his flood-hit state.

SRINAGAR: Jammu & Kashmir chief minister Omar Abdullah on Tuesday met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi and sought a special rehabilitation package for his flood-hit state.
“We look to you in this hour of grave crisis for all the required support in the second phase of calamity management in terms of rehabilitation of the affected families both in terms of housing and livelihood besides permanent restoration of the public assets,” an official statement quoted Omar telling the PM.

Sources said Modi has assured all support to the state.
In Srinagar, Union health Minister Harsh Vardhan visited hospitals in Srinagar to take stock of damages caused to equipment.
He was briefed about the devastation caused to the health infrastructure in the Valley.
