PSC Public Hearing Scheduled for September 30 in Williston


(Targeted News Service Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) BISMARCK, N.D., Sept. 22 -- The North Dakota Public Service Commission issued the following news release: The North Dakota Public Service Commission (PSC) will hold a public hearing on Tuesday, Sept. 30, regarding a proposal to convert an existing crude oil gathering pipeline into a transmission line. The 43.5-mile long pipeline is located in Divide and Williams Counties.



Meadowlark Midstream Company, LLC (a subsidiary of Summit Midstream Partners, LLC) has submitted an application for the Divide Lateral Pipeline Project, which would convert an existing gathering pipeline to a transmission line. The transmission pipeline would transport oil from the planned Divide Pump Station, located approximately 17 miles northwest of Alamo in Divide County, to the existing Colt Rail Terminal located north of Epping in Williams County. It is estimated the pipeline will carry an estimated 35,000 barrels per day (maximum capacity of 45,000 barrels per day). From the Colt Rail Terminal, the product will be shipped to end users throughout North Dakota, the United States and Canada. Estimated cost of the project is $3.5 million.

The hearings provide an opportunity for members of the public to contribute to the PSC's official record. Any comments from members of the public must be received at the hearing to be part of the record. People with concerns, questions or support for the project are encouraged to attend the hearing and present the information. Information received after the hearing will not be part of the official record and cannot be used as a basis for the Commission's decision unless certain additional procedures are followed. The hearing schedule provides for the company to present its case and answer questions from the Commissioners first, after which the Commission will take comments from other parties and the public.
