Gurudev Bhalla : I will be returning to filmmaking after a gap of 12 years

Another day, another shoot in Lucknow. After Bollywood, it looks like TV serials are making a beeline for the city.
The latest addition to that list is Udaan, a Hindi serial on bonded labour, which is being currently shot here. Child artist Spandan Chaturvedi, who plays the protagonist in the serial, Chakor, shot at the Ambedkar Park in Gomti Nagar on Monday.Her co-actor and child artist Waheed Kapadia was there with her.

The current track of the serial shows Chakor coming to Lucknow from her village with a new family and how she gets very excited on seeing a big city that she's never been to.The shooting in the city will continue till September 24, and will take place at the Bada Imambara next.
The director of the show, Gurudev Bhalla, told us, “We are here to shoot for the Lucknow track, which will continue for around two months in the show, in which Chakor comes to Lucknow with a new family and get to see the giant buildings, parks and historical monuments.“ He added, “After shooting here, I feel we could not have got a better location anywhere else in India!“ The story of the show was close to Mahesh Bhatt's heart, who had actually began shooting a film on the same in the early 90s. “I was assisting Mahesh Bhatt in the movie,“ says Gurudev, adding, “Ajay Devgn was playing the lead in the movie. The movie was shelved because of finance issue. I will be returning to filmmaking after a gap of 12 year with my next venture, which is a love story on the lines of Aashiqui 2.“
