Mangalore University has chosen Yakshagana scholar Amrith Someshwar and senior Yakshagana teacher and artiste Bannanje Sanjeeva Suvarna for its annual Yakshamangala award.

It has also chosen ‘Himmela’, a book written by another Yakshagana scholar K.M. Raghava Nambiyar for its new Yakshamangala book award.

The awards have been instituted by P. Dayananda Pai and P. Satish Pai Yakshagana Adhyayana Kendra at the university.
