Liverpool has said manager Brendan Rodgers will not be making any comment on the racist Twitter messages sent to Mario Balotelli while police are investigating the matter.
The striker was subjected to a string of abusive responses after posting a tweet which made fun of Manchester United's surprise defeat to Leicester in the Premier League.
Executive director of Football Against Racism in Europe Piara Powar said: "The police can act on the reports they've received. Some people can be difficult to track down, but others one can trace and they should be prosecuted."
