People's Climate March
After watching last week's and again this Sunday's roundup of MSM prognosticators that
Trix so generously provides each Saturday evening on
Sunday Talk, what we're getting to varying degree are the sounds of war plans. Open ended plans. Perpetual war iow's. So after poking around a bit in search of a different take on the Middle East, one that holds the focus on the issues
immediately relevant to the vast majority of people as the priority, I found these videos on and speeches by Senator Sanders with just that.

“I do not want to see combat troops involved in what will be a never ending war”
- Senator Bernie Sanders

Senator Bernie Sanders has since
voted no (September 18, 2014) to war funding for the training and arming of Syrian Rebels
“This is not just a question of whether young men and women in Vermont and across America should be putting their lives on the line in another Mideast war. It is not just about whether the taxpayers of our country should once again pay for a war in the Middle East. It is about the reality that, long term, this struggle will never be won by the United States alone. It must be won with the active participation of the Muslim countries in the region,” Sanders said.
Here Senator Sanders speaks with Chris Hayes on his no vote on War funding for training and arming Syrian rebels, media driven war hysteria and the need for International coalition of Middle Eastern countries willing to step up:

Meanwhile :)
People's Climate March:
Hundreds of thousands of peaceful demonstrators marched through Manhattan on Sunday to draw attention to climate change. Sen. Bernie Sanders joined the march that organizers said drew more than 300,000 people. Sanders is the sponsor of a bill to put a tax on carbon and methane emissions that cause global warming.
[...]
“You have a major political party that is rejecting science and is impeding us on every step of the way," Sanders said. “The only way we make change is by doing exactly what we are doing today—taking to the streets.” Sanders was among more than 900 Vermonters who came to New York on buses organized by 350.org, the leading environmental organization founded by fellow Vermonter Bill McKibben.

Here is Senator Sanders on the floor of the senate:
After acknowledging the danger ISIS poses in the Middle East Senator Sanders follows up with this (starting @ minute 0:36):
..I also want to say that ISIS is not the only major problem facing our country. It would be a real tragedy if in our legitimate concerns about the dangers of ISIS..[it would be] a real tragedy if we continue to ignore the very serious problems that are taking place right here in the United States of America and impacting tens of millions of working families.
Madam President there are crises here at home that we have ignored too long. Real unemployment today is 12% percent. Youth unemployment is 20%. We can’t ignore it.
The minimum wage nationally is a starvation wage of seven and a quarter ($7.25) an hour. We cannot ignore that reality. We have to raise the minimum wage. Madam President women earn $77 cents to the dollar that men earn. That is unfair […]
Senator Boxer was just on the floor taking about the planetary crisis of global warming. And the fact that virtually the entire scientific community is united in telling us that Global warming is real. It is significantly caused by human activity. It has already causing devastating problems in our country and around the world, we cannot continue to ignore. The crisis of global warming.
Senator Sanders continues to list a whole range of issues: Citizens United (undo it). Corruption of our bought and paid for lawmakers, and the need for public campaign finance…

Senator Sanders will wait until after Iowa to decide whether to run as an Independent or Dem if he is indeed running. A fifty state infrastructure is essential in Bernie Sanders opinion.

Here is Senator Sanders site called Bernie Buzz where you can fill out a form listing what issues are most important to you. These are some of Senator Sanders:
♦ deficit reduction must not be on the backs of the middle class working folk, the elderly, the sick or the poor if it is pursued
♦ the wealthy and large corporations are going to have to pay their fair share of taxes
♦ we must take a hard look at excessive military spending
♦ with over 20 million people unemployed we need a major jobs program; rebuilding our crumbling infrastructure: roads, bridges, water systems, waste water plants, airports and rail
♦ Global warming is real; We must cut greenhouse gas emissions and transform out energy system away from fossil fuels into energy efficiency and sustainable energy
♦ PPACA is a start; we must move forward on a single payer health care system, allowing America to join the rest of the world and guarantee healthcare to all people as a Right and not a priviledge
♦ We have got to overturn the disastrous Citizens United supreme court decision
♦ move toward public funding of elections
♦ filibuster reform must be passed in the senate so that the minority is no longer able to obstruct the majority
♦ We must beat back the attacks on women’s rights and LGBT rights
Senator Sanders stresses that these issues mentioned in the video are but a few of the many he is working on and hopes that people will fill out the form below the video with their ideas of what issues are most important to them.

So my sense of it is that "we've been spooked" as a country. The conversation has once again shifted back to war talk. Instead of many voices calling for no war we have stories on what level, or how much war is just the right amount. WTF?
This full surround sound from the corporate media fear-mongering war-drum and the very real political hazard it was (9/11) and is now once again designed to create, has forced: "a capitulation to bellicose folly" - or else - situation at our elected officials, driven by our humongous global military footprint established by a voracious military industrial complex purposefully spread out amongst many different state economies and that this serves not us but the other way around.
- time to turn in - be back later on today
- Thank you for stopping by :)
