Imam Mehdi Hassan goes underground

Rusampura village based Imam Mehdi Hasan has gone underground after at least two police complaints, and a court case against him over his remarks against Hindu traditional festival of Navratri.
Mehdi Hasan had in his remark reportedly said that Navratri is a festival of demons. He had also opined that celebration of Navarti must be banned.
Imam Mehdi is facing atleast two police complaint that are filed in Nadiad(West) and Thasra police station. Attempt of Vishwa Hindu Parishad and Shiv Sena workers to file more complaints against Imam Mehdi Hasan failed as Ahmedabad’s Gomtipur and Ranip police stations only agreed to accept application and not complaint. In a fresh development, an advocate has today filed case against Imam Hasan in Bhavnagar court.
Vishwa Hindu Parishad has threatened actions if Imam is not arrested by police.
Imam meanwhile has gone underground.
