AirAsia India Offers Fares From Rs 690

Budget carrier AirAsia India is offering fares as low as Rs 690 as part of a promotional sale. The booking period for this AsiaAsia offer will remain open till October 5, 2014. This offer is applicable on travel between January 15, 2015 and June 30, 2015.

As part of this AirAsia offer, tickets from Bangalore to Chennai and Kochi and vice versa start from Rs 690. On Bangalore to Goa and vice versa, the promotional fare starts from Rs 990.

Under this same promotional offer, Bangalore to Chandigarh and Jaipur and vice versa tickets are priced from Rs 2,390. AirAsia India is a three-way joint venture between Malaysia-based AirAsia Berhad, Tata Group and investment firm Telestra Tradeplace. Malaysia-based AirAsia Berhad holds 49 per cent stake in AirAsia India.

AirAsia India from September 5 added Jaipur and Chandigarh to its network as part of its first foray into north India.

Low-priced air tickets offered by various Indian airlines seem to have had an effect, with the number of passengers flown by them in August growing by over 8.3 per cent compared to July this year, official data showed. The latest figures showed the number of domestic passengers carried by the airlines grew from 52.60 lakh in July to 56.97 lakh in August. (With Agency Inputs)
