ASWJ leader gunned down in Rawalpindi

Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat (ASWJ) leader Mufti Amanullah was shot dead in Rawalpindi on Sunday.

RAWALPINDI (Dunya News) – According to details, some unidentified persons opened fire and killed Mufti Amanullah when he was on his way back from Farooq-e-Azam Mosque after attending a religious conference.
 

Police said that Mufti Amanullah, along with one of his companions, was travelling on a motorcycle when two unidentified men opened fire on them.
 

The attackers managed to escape from the scene. Mufti Amanullah was son of Maulana Ashraf Ali who is Mohtamim (Caretaker) of the Jamia Taleem-ul-Quran situated in Raja Bazar.
 

It may be noted that ten leaders of ASWJ have been gunned down in the incidents of targeted killings in Rawalpindi in the past few months. Soon after the killing, students from Jamia Taleem-ul-Quran staged a protest at Fawara Chowk and blocked roads.
