JAMMU, Sept 21: A team of Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) led by State general secretary, Rakesh Wazir toured the flood affected areas of Nagrota constituency and expressed concern over the delay by the Revenue authorities in assessing the losses due to recent rains and floods.
The team visited Nargara, Jhakhar, Gorda and Dhanu, where the team observed that the distribution of the losses ex-gratia has been started in some areas while in many areas the Patwaries have not bothered to reach even the affected site and submitted the losses report.
The BSP leaders showed great concern over the delay by the revenue authorities in reaching the flood affected areas and asked the higher authorities to depute other agencies as well like Gram Sewaks, Teachers, people of Agriculture Department, etc in the assessment of losses and distribution of relief material by bifurcating them in small areas and segments as well.
