Traffic diversion around Chinnaswamy Stadium on Monday

Traffic around M. Chinnaswamy Stadium will be diverted as the Champions League T20 matches will begin on Monday. The other matches are scheduled to be held on September 25, 27 and 30.

According to a release, vehicles coming from Queen’s Road towards CTO Circle should move on King’s Road to proceed further. However, vehicles coming from CTO junction should proceed on city police headquarters junction, Bhagwan Mahaveer Jain Road (Infantry Road), and take a right turn to reach Cubbon Road and proceed further.

There will be no parking in and around the stadium. Parking will be banned between 4 p.m. and 11 p.m. on Queen’s Road, M.G. Road, Link Road, Raj Bhavan Road, T. Chowdiah Road, Race Course Road, Central Street, BRV Junction, Dickenson Road, Kamaraj Road, Madras Bank Road, Ashirwadam Circle, Museum Road, Residency Road, Kasturba Road, Hudson Circle, Grant Road, Siddalingaiah Circle, RRMR Circle, inside Cubbon Park, King’s Road, and Bal Bhavan. However, Bangalore Metropolitan Transport Corporation (BMTC) buses are exempted from the parking restrictions, the release added.

Parking has been arranged for all vehicles at the BMTC bus stand parking lot in Shivajinagar, Kamaraj Road (opposite Army School), St. Joseph’s Indian High School and St. Mark’s Cathedral.

BMTC Big-10 buses will be run from M.G. Road to all the destinations in and around the city.

Tight security

Security will be tightened with the deployment of 712 police personnel to maintain law and order.

Besides, 46 plainclothes police personnel will be deployed to monitor any suspicious activities.

As many as 86 CCTV cameras and six battalions of the Karnataka State Reserve Police and two battalions of the Rapid Action Force will be pressed into service to meet any eventuality.

The police have instructed the viewers to be present before the commencement of the match. Carrying cigarettes, matchbox, lighters, cameras, binoculars, laptops, tablets, snacks, music system, knives, blades, perfumes, cosmetics, umbrellas, flags and torches has been banned.
