Vineeth suggested the title Orma Undo Ee Mugham: Anwar Sadik
A filmy punchline that has become part and parcel of our everyday lingo is Suresh Gopi’s famous line, Ormayundo Ee Mugham from the film Bharathchandran IPS. We all know that the actor’s powerful dialogue is now the title of a film starring Vineeth Sreenivasan and Namitha Pramod in lead roles.
The director of the film, Anwar Sadik, says he initially had an English title in mind but actor Vineeth suggested that they should stick to a Malayalam title.
Anwar says, “We discussed many names and someone suggested Ormayundo Ee Mugham just for fun. But we thought people may mistake it for a Suresh Gopi kind of film. Surprisingly, after a few days, Vineeth came up with the same title, so we decided to finalise it. Our first job was to change a certain image that we often associate with the line. So we decided to give a complete romantic feel to the posters and an image makeover for the actors too.”
The film is progressing in full swing and is set to hit the screens in November. The director says casting Vineeth was the right decision as Malayalis have a special liking for his voice. “People love to hear him and it is challenging for Vineeth, but he has done a good job. Apart from losing weight, he’s putting a lot of effort to deliver the best,” signs off the director.
