Oculus VR to make game for the Samsung Gear VR [Mobile 88 Online (Malaysia)]

(Mobile 88 Online (Malaysia) Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Oculus VR, the company that brought you the Oculus Rift virtual reality headset, has just announced that they will release a game, with the working title “VR Quest”, for Samsung’s Gear VR. Previously, Oculus has partnered with Samsung on the development of the Gear VR, which will retail later in the year for USD $199 (RM643.57). As reported earlier, it will require that the Galaxy Note 4 also be attached to the headset for the device to work.

Today’s announcement that Oculus will also release a game for the Gear VR was made during the company’s first Oculus Connect developer conference by its chief technology officer John Carmack. He stated as saying that the game will be a third-person dungeon crawler that he described as “Zelda-esque”, meaning it will have gameplay similar to Nintendo’s classic Zelda series. Not much on “VR Quest” were revealed otherwise, nor was there an availability date. Will this boost sales for the Gear VR for those previously uninterested? Only time will tale Source: IGN (c) 88 Mobile.com 2014. All rights reserved. Provided by SyndiGate Media Inc. (Syndigate.info).
