Amitabh Bachchan to be felicitated with ANR award

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan who made a cameo appearance in ANR's last film Manam is all set to be honoured with the ANR Award this year. It is reliably learnt that Amitabh Bachchan has agreed to make a trip to Hyderabad to collect the award. The date of the Award ceremony is yet to be finalised. Congress leader and industrialist T Subbirami Reddy who heads the Award Committe of the ANR award, confirmed the news at the birthday celebrations of ANR held in Hyderabad on Saturday.
The ANR national award is instituted by the Akkineni International Foundation. The late matinee idol is believed to have been a big admirer of Amitabh Bachchan which is why Nagarjuna requested the Big B to do a special cameo in Manam. In the past actors like Sridevi, Syam Benegal, Hema Malini, Dr. K. Balachander, Lata Mangeskar, Anjali Devi, Shabana Azmi and Dev Anand have been awarded with this award in the past.
