A woman Aam Aadmi Party leader has filed a complaint alleging that former AAP member and Laxmi Nagar MLA Vinod Kumar Binny and 21 others have been spreading rumours about her on social networking sites.

Binny, however, rubbished the allegations saying a fake profile had been created in his name and that he would approach police on the issue.

DCP (South) Prem Nath confirmed that a complaint had been received at Kotla Mubarakpur police station. It has been forwarded to the Economic Offences Wing (EOW).

Police said the EOW has registered an FIR against unknown persons. In her complaint, the woman said Binny was spreading rumours about her being involved in a sex racket.

Police said no arrest has been made so far. “Fearing prosecution, they (the accused) are now deleting their abusive comments posted on my Facebook page. People should come forward and take screenshots as proof and send them to me. This just shows how they disrespect women,” the AAP leader tweeted.
