At least 10 girls, including seven minors, were rescued by child rights campaigner from railway station here on Saturday afternoon.

BERHAMPUR: At least 10 girls, including seven minors, were rescued by child rights campaigner from railway station here on Saturday afternoon.
The girls belonging to Tulu and Markanadi, fishermen-dominated areas near Chikiti, were being taken to Andhra Pradesh to work in a prawn processing unit.
"The rescued children are being counselled by Childline (an NGO) and will be handed over to their parents," said railway station master B P Bramha.

The trafficker escaped from the spot and the girls could not reveal his same, said director of Childline (Berhampur) Sudhir Sabat.
