Irish boxers David Oliver Joyce and Joe Ward will meet familiar foes on their AIBA Pro Boxing (APB) debuts in Kazakhstan next month.
Joyce will meet Kazakh lightweight Berik Abdrakhmanov, while Ward will renew acquaintances with Russian light-heavy Nikita Ivanov on 24 October.
Joyce and Ward, the only two Irish boxers signed up to APB, have been in Kazakhstan since last Saturday attending a workshop covering various aspects of APB.
Joyce beat the Kazakh, the current Asian champion and a 2013 World Elite bronze medalist, in the Chemistry Cup final in Germany in May.
Ward beat Ivanov in the 2011 European Elite final and in the AIBA World Elite Championships last year.
