JAMMU, Sept 20: Taking a serious note on the failure of administration in restoring the lifeline in Surankote, Youth Congress (YC) State president, Shahnawaz Choudhary urged the Government to restore the disconnected roads in Surankote.
He also urged the Government to provide the compensation at the earliest to all the flood victims who suffered loss due to the devastating floods. He also asked the State Government to provide the compensation for the farmers, who lost their crops in the recent rains and floods.
In a press statement, he said despite rain and floods having wrought havoc, the Government has done nothing except making various visits and assurances, while the people of Surankote constituency continue to be neglected on all fronts.
Shahnawaz later talked to the Divisional Commissioner, Jammu and told him to reconstruct the Dundhak Bridge as soon as possible as a large segment of population is disconnected from the rest of the world due to the great loss caused to this bridge in the flood.
He also urged the administration to take a serious note on the restoration of other roads in the area.
