Incessant rains hit Dasara preparation

The officials are yet to complete the covering of area where devotees would form queues
Vijayawada: The incessant rain fall of the past two days has adversely affected the arrangements for Dasara festival at the Kanakadurga temple. The officials are yet to complete the covering the area where devotees would form queues, from Vinayaka temple to ghat road.
As only four days are left for the festival to begin, the officials are in a hurry to complete the arrangements as soon as possible.
The officials also have to complete illumination of the temple, including the Omkaram at the ghat road.
Arrangements at various bathing ghats are also incomplete. The officials have decided to arrange showers at the bathing ghats for the convenience of the devotees. However, this work is yet to get underway. Commissioner of endowments Y.V. Anuradha is likely to inspect the Dasara arrangements on September 21 or September 22.
