NEW DELHI: Former Aam Aadmi Party MLA Vinod Kumar Binny has been booked after party member Alka Lamba filed a complaint alleging Binny and others had been circulating false messages on social media that she was running a sex racket in her house.
According to the FIR, Binny allegedly posted on Facebook that cops had raided Alka's house and arrested two women and customers indulging in flesh trade.
The FIR has been filed against Binny and 37 others.
The cyber cell of Delhi Police registered a case under Section 66A (sending offensive messages through communication service) of IT Act, 354D (stalking) and 509 (word, gesture or act intended to insult the modesty of a woman).
Lamba said that Binny and others had been making derogatory remarks against her on the social network and that she was determined to fight against them. On Friday, Alka had lodged a complaint at Kotla police station.
