Bristol Rovers 2-0 Woking

Adam Cunnington's early goal set Bristol Rovers on their way to victory over Woking.

Cunnington opened the scoring inside three minutes when he converted Dave Martin's cross from 18 yards out.

Home goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall preserved his side's lead with a fine stop from Josh Payne.

The Pirates wrapped up their fourth- uccessive victory thanks to Lee Mansell's 25-yard free-kick in the 86th minute.

Bristol Rovers manager Darrell Clarke told BBC Radio Bristol:

"I'm pleased, obviously delighted with the support which was fantastic. We really appreciated it, because I thought Woking played some good stuff at times albeit not really creating opportunities.

"We've had to dig in. We have had to change shape a few times to win the football match and the lads have responded to it.

"We changed it around a little bit because we were concerned about how much space they were getting in midfield first half. Although we looked threatening on the attack we also looked vulnerable to them opening us up. So we changed a few things around.

"Then we changed back to a 4-4-2 and we got the second goal from it - but the credit goes to my players."

Woking manager Garry Hill told BBC Surrey:

"No complaints really.

"It was hard work going down to Torquay in the week, and getting punished in injury time, and then coming to Bristol four days later and getting beat and you have to take that.

"We've had 11 games now and got 21 points out of 33 and we've done very well. I haven't seen anything in the 11 games to turn around and say sides are a distance above us.

"I'm pleased now we have a clear week and that is important to us to try and re-group. All we have been is just a bit short in the last two games."
