In the digital space, influencers are taking the world by storm.  Celebrity stylists, fashion bloggers, Youtube content creators, makeup artists, hair stylists and even Instagram celebrities are creating many of today’s fashion and beauty trends.  By posting one photo, they can organically promote a product to hundreds, if not millions, of followers.   I’m excited to be sharing my ‘Stylish Sips’ with you where I’ll be meeting with top trendsetters in the fashion and beauty industry.  Follow along to get weekly ‘Stylish Sips’ interviews from me!

During New York Fashion Week, Piperlime hosted a New York Fashion Week party at its SoHo store to kick off the launch of its brand new website, as well as the first-ever Piperlime Collection. That's where I met up with Olivia Palermo to chat all things fashion and business!  Believe me, she is just as chic and sweet in person as she appears in her interviews.

NAME: Olivia Palermo

OCCUPATION: E-Commerce Entrepreneur, Fashion Editor and International Style Icon

BIO:  Olivia Palermo has gained international recognition as one of fashion's premier insiders with her work as an actress, model, spokesperson and recently as the executive editor and creative director at OliviaPalermo.com. Launched in October of 2012, OliviaPalermo.com is a “Blog-lovin’” two time award winning fashion and lifestyle website. Palermo was previously the brand ambassador of the 2013 and 2014 Maasai Project for Pikolinos. Pikolinos is a wonderful company that focuses on providing the endangered Kenyan tribe, Maasai, with a better quality of life. Earlier this year Palermo successfully collaborated with Westward Leaning on a collection of sunglasses and due out in September is her capsule collection of shoes with Italian shoe designer Aquazzura.

Olivia’s work with top fashion magazines, including Vogue UK, GRAZIA, and Elle, has solidified her standing as a trend setter for her generation. Noted for her savvy sense of balancing high and low fashion, Palermo collaborated on a jewelry line with Roberta Freymann and designed a shoe with Stuart Weitzman for cancer research.

A native New Yorker, Palermo attended the American University of Paris and interned at Quest Magazine, a monthly society publication. Party photographer Patrick McMullan first noticed Palermo at a charity auction and subsequently began posting photos of her at various social events. Since that first snap, she's been signed to Special Bookings at Models One in London and Promod in Hamburg. In 2010, Palermo became the face of the London label Freda, and worked alongside her boyfriend Johannes Huebl for Mercedes-Benz in 2011. She also appeared in campaigns for Hogan and Spanish high street brand Mango. Building off of her relationships with design houses, Palermo became a brand ambassador to Tibi and Spanish jewelry brand Carrera y Carrera in addition to appearing in their advertising campaign.

Palermo was featured prominently on MTV’s hit spinoff The City where she was able to promote her philanthropic endeavors. Although she currently resides New York, Palermo spends much of her time abroad.

EDUCATION: American University of Paris

Who was your inspiration to pursue your dreams?

I don't think I had someone that inspired me. You know, I just organized and knew what I wanted to do and I'm very fortunate to be able to do it.

What are you wearing right now?

I’m wearing a Piperlime Collection top and faux leather skirt with a combination of a Jemma Wynne necklace and Piperlime pendant necklace, Aquazzura heels and a Jeffrey Levinson clutch.

What has been one of your biggest career challenges? How did you overcome it?

Well, I got the time management down. I think within any business, learning how to run a business obviously takes a little bit and you have a huge responsibility in managing people but I think I've had great support and guidance from adults in starting my own business.

Beauty product you can’t leave the house without?

Concealer

What’s your signature scent?

Definitely anything that is designed by Kelly Wearstler

List your 3 best strengths.
