JAMMU, Sept 19: In the ongoing “Display Your Talent” 2014-15, Classical Vocal (Solo) and Semi Classical Vocal (Solo) Competitions were organized by Department of Students Welfare, University of Jammu at Brig Rajinder Singh Auditorium at University of Jammu, here today.
In Classical Vocal Solo, Mukteshi Sharma and Shingarika Malhotra, both from Govt College for Women, Parade, Jammu, clinched the first and third prize respectively, whereas Rakesh Deol from Institute of Music and Fine Arts, bagged the second prize. The Certificate of Merit was awarded to Komal Chib from Govt. College Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu.
Prof B S Bali, Vijay K Sambyal and Sunaina Koul were the experts for Classical Vocal (Solo) event.
In Semi Classical Vocal Solo, Sonali Dogra and Mukteshi Sharma, both from Govt College for Women, Parade, Jammu were adjudged as first and second respectively, while Diksha Kumari from Govt College for Women, Gandhi Nagar, Jammu bagged the third prize.
The Certificate of Merit was awarded to Sonali Bharti from Govt Degree College (Boys), Udhampur.
Prof B S Bali, Vijay K Sambyal and Balbir Beera, were the judges for Semi Classical Vocal (Solo) event.
Dr Shashi Prabha, was the Teacher Inchagre for Classical Vocal (Solo), while Dr Rakesh Atri was the Teacher Incharge for Semi Classical Vocal (Solo) event.
The proceedings were conducted by Anjusha and Maida Rasool whereas Rakesh Kumar acted as the time keeper in both the events.
Prof Pankaj K Srivastava, Dean Students Welfare distributed the certificates among the participating students.
Prominent among others present on the occasion were Prof Parmeshwari Sharma, Chairperson, Campus Cultural Committee, Dr Abdul Rashid Manhas, Assistant Dean (SW), Faculty Members, Teachers In-charge from various affiliated Colleges, Ifra Kak, Cultural Officer, Sumeet Sharma, Drama Instructor, Rahul Sharma, Secretary, Students Cultural Council, Aenny Mattoo and Tanya Sohal, Joint Secretaries, Students Cultural Council, Jagpreet Kour and Jatinder Singh.
