When television’s lead actors fall ill and skip their shoot, there’s usually mayhem. With episodes in the case of many shows being shot just a day prior, a protagonist’s absence can throw schedules off track.
The last few weeks have seen six actresses, who play the lead roles in their shows, under the weather — as a result of which tracks have had to be reworked.
And in one case, the season had to be wrapped up earlier than scheduled.
Dipika Samson: Simar in Sasural Simar Ka
Dipika has been hospitalised after being diagnosed with dengue. The hospitalisation took place a day before the cast and crew were scheduled to fly off to Hong Kong. The actress, who has been advised a five-day bed rest, will join the cast later.

Ankita Lokhande: Ankita in Pavitra Rishta
The actress underwent a surgery for appendicitis some time ago. She was advised bed rest for 10 days and the focus in the show was shifted to other characters.
Ratan Rajput: Irawati in Fanaah
Ratan was diagnosed with dengue a few weeks back. With a lead face confined to bed and other actors’ injured, the show wrapped up prematurely.
