Considering demands from commuters, Railway administration has decided to continue with experimental stoppages to some trains passing through Pune division.

PUNE: Considering demands from commuters, Railway administration has decided to continue with experimental stoppages to some trains passing through Pune division. As many as 10 trains will continue to have halts till further advice, officials said.
The Pune-Bhusawal-Pune express will halt at chinchwad station. The Haripriya express and Rani chennamma express will have halts at Hatkanangale station on Pune-Kolhapur route.The Mumbai-Pune CST express will halt at Shivajinagar, Mumbai-Pandharpur-Mumbai train will halt at Kedgaon, Mumabi-Bangalore express will halt at Urali, Pune-Indore-Pune express will halt at Chinchwad.

Commuters welcomed administration's decision to extend halts. They said that numbers of daily passengers have witnessed constant increase at smaller stations. All these passengers have no choice but to travel to Pune station to catch express trains. Administration should provide halts at smaller stations to avoid hardships faced by passengers.
Meanwhile, authorities said that they receive constant demands and memorandums from commuters' organisations for additional halts. All these demands are referred to the head office for further consultation.
Over 150 express and mail trains come and go from Pune station every day besides 42 trips of local trains run between Pune and Lonavla stations.
