Republican lawmaker Vardan Ayvazyan is amused by the idea that the three opposition factions in parliament are going to hold a mighty rally on October 10. "Enough of it!" he said. “During the rally, they can even demand a change of power. We shall not be surprised to hear opposition’s threats again but there are no grounds for it. We have never been afraid to lose power,” said Mr. Ayvazyan. He does not understand why people should take to the street to demand a change in power. “It can be done only through elections,” he said adding that people can take to the street to demand new or early elections. “Let us wait and see,” said the Republican MP. Head of the Republican parliamentary faction Vahram Baghdasaryan invites the opposition to discuss the constitutional reforms. “They say, “Go, we shall join you.”  What do they mean by this? This is not serious,” said Mr Baghdasaryan. “The opposition wants to fish in troubled waters,” says the Republican MP. “They could wait until the end of discussions and then hold a rally. In fact, they want to stir up the political situation in the country.” The Republican MP takes the statement of the chief of the Armenian police, Vladimir Gasparyan with humor who said earlier in September that the forces promising a ‘heated autumn will be met by a cold shower or an even more ‘heated autumn.’ “Perhaps what Mr Gasparyan said was a cold shower for them that we are not going to deviate from the law.  Of course, it is not advantageous for the opposition.”
